  • Provides respiratory care to patients as ordered by physicians, and according to established standards and practices.
  • Exemplifies knowledge of the cardiopulmonary system in order to perform the delivery of clinical care.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and to follow written and oral communication.
  • Knowledge of biopsychosocial and spiritual aspects of human behavior ranging from newborns to geriatrics.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills, empathy, and unconditional positive regard towards all patients and co-workers.
  • Establishes measurable yearly goals and objectives.
  • Promotes positive customer relations.
  • Compliance with organizational requirements, including policies, procedures and regulations specific to the Respiratory Care Department.
  • Mechanism must be provided for contact of the employee (i.e. beeper, telephone, emergency contact).
  • Flexibility in schedule in order to meet the needs of the patients, community and staff.
  • Participates in performance improvement to improve patient outcomes.
  • Performs age specific therapy, demonstrating awareness of safety and care for each age group.
  • Able to effectively perform patient handling procedures to ensure patient safety as well as employee safety.

  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
  • Less than 1 year of relevant work experience
