About The Position

As our Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will competently provide essential respiratory care for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Your expertise is vital for critical respiratory interventions and patient well-being. Every day you will perform arterial punctures, continuous ventilation, airway maintenance, emergency care, infection control, isolation procedures, mechanical ventilator operation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and medical gas administration. To be successful, you will possess advanced clinical skills in all aspects of respiratory care across age groups, meticulous attention to detail, a strong commitment to patient safety and infection control, and the ability to perform effectively in emergencies. Advanced Practitioner level responsibilities. Provides expertise in care to all areas of the hospital and all patient populations on an independent level. Functions as a resource for both internal and external customers in all aspects of Respiratory Care. Performs advanced duties of Respiratory Care as outlined in the American Association of Respiratory Care's Clinical Practice Guidelines: http://www.rcjournal.com/cpgs/index.cfm Respond to emergency call throughout the hospital and perform emergency respiratory care procedures in accordance with departmental guidelines. Provide basic and advanced life support measures to all patient populations concentrating on area of expertise: Airway and Ventilation. Performs electrocardiograph testing and related procedures. Performs EKG testing to all patient populations and have basic knowledge to determine discrepancies in machine interpretations.

Requirements

  • One year clinical experience working as a licensed respiratory therapist in an acute care setting.
  • Experience must include emergency department, adult, pediatric, neonatal and general respiratory care.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner: CA, upon hire
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program, upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Of Science Respiratory Therapy
  • Advanced practitioner level experience and ability to perform independently in the NICU and Adult ICU's, upon hire
  • Neonatal-Pediatric Specialty Respiratory Therapist, upon hire
  • Adult Critical Care Specialty Examination, upon hire
