About The Position

The Resource Utilization Coordinator (CDI-Clinical Documentation Specialist) is responsible for coordinating the clinical care of patients by assessing, planning, and facilitating progression through the plan of care. This role involves the collection of clinical information to determine medical necessity for admission and continued hospitalization. The coordinator reviews and monitors the utilization of resources throughout the patient's stay, ensuring optimal clinical and financial outcomes, as well as patient satisfaction. The position serves as a catalyst to challenge current practices and streamline the delivery of services, requiring professional interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, physicians, other staff, and the community.

Requirements

  • Active RN licensure in the state of Ohio.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; an RN holding a MSN may be considered in lieu of a BSN.
  • Active BLS certification required.
  • Minimum 3 years nursing/clinical experience in the acute care hospital setting with documented expertise.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including rotating shifts and weekends/holidays.
  • Competent in computer skills (Word, Excel, Internet, and e-mail) required.

  • Previous case management experience.
