About The Position

The Resource Technician is responsible for identifying product problems and coordinating with various departments to find solutions. This role involves operating machinery, providing service in customer plants, and ensuring safety requirements are met. The technician will also assist in the installation and setup of machines according to job specifications, interpret engineering drawings, and assist in training less-experienced team members. The position requires planning and executing the assembly and wiring of machines, as well as performing tests and maintenance as needed.

Requirements

  • Must possess or be able to acquire basic computer skills and adapt to applicable software.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel independently to and from customers' job sites.
  • Must be able to pass the Resource Technician test.
  • Must be able to complete work in a safe manner.
  • Must possess knowledge and ability to read and interpret detailed drawings.
  • Must be able to work in a teamwork environment.
  • Must be able to accomplish work assignments independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to follow reasonable directions and execute assignments effectively.
  • Must be able to pass state-approved tests to operate a fork truck and a floor-operated overhead crane.
  • Normal manufacturing environment with exposure to dust and excessive noise.
  • Domestic and international travel, including air and ground travel.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies product problems and coordinates with necessary departments to find solutions.
  • Operates all machinery assigned to the Resource Technician Classification.
  • Provides service in customer plant when assigned.
  • Reviews necessary guarding and safety requirements and assists with guarding the machine as directed.
  • Directs the installation and machine set-up in customer plant to job specifications.
  • Determines device tags and mounts from engineering drawings.
  • Assists management with training & development of less-experienced members.
  • Utilizes ERP system to understand the status of components and purchased parts.
  • Plans, assembles, wires, and sets up machines of all designs.
  • Interprets working drawings and detailed drawings.
  • Plans and installs plumbing of machines per drawings and specifications.
  • Performs final setup of the machine prior to sequence, final test, and shipment.
  • Plans and wires control panels and associated bracketry.
  • Estimates length of wire/runs and terminates wire runs.
  • Designs and installs brackets for control panels and switches.
  • Performs continuity, battery box, and voltage tests.
  • Writes clear and comprehensive service reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
