The Fedcap School is an accredited private school in West Orange, New Jersey, dedicated to helping students ages 13-21 classified with cognitive, multiple, or behavioral disabilities succeed and thrive into adulthood. Through individualized and group instruction, our students flourish through our comprehensive academic curriculum and behavior modification program. We provide equal access to educational opportunities that enhance a student’s decision-making, problem- solving and social skills, improving their quality of life—both in school and after graduation. JOB PURPOSE: Resource Teachers have varied responsibilities; all focused on providing individualized help to students. They create personalized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs, guiding their learning journey. Collaborating closely with classroom teachers, they adapt lessons and materials, ensuring they are accessible to all students, regardless of their learning styles. Additionally, Resource Teachers offer specialized instruction, addressing specific challenges in subjects like reading or math. They provide emotional support, creating a positive learning atmosphere. Acting as advocates, they ensure equal access to resources. In essence, Resource Teachers play a vital role in teaching and empowering students to succeed. They will service either Science/Math or English/Social Studies students.
