About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, Resource Development and Transportation Unit (RDTU), coordinates and ensures the best and safest transportation options for consumers in a manner that is fair and consistent for service providers. Works in compliance within Title 17 regulations regarding transportation of consumers and vendor requirements. Completes necessary paperwork, reports, etc. on a timely basis. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience coordinating a multidimensional human services program in an organized and efficient manner for two (2) years is preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability in basic math/algebra skills.
  • Ability to follow oral and written direction.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily activities related to mobility and transportation for Inland Regional Center (IRC) and work closely with all members of the Resource Development & Transportation team to ensure an exceptional information and work-sharing environment for maximum efficiency.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and conflict resolution for internal customers
  • Lead Transportation Service Request Compliance Review as assigned to hear and decide on cases that require discussion.
  • Quickly process transportation authorizations and other paperwork needed to transport consumers without interruption.
  • Attend bi-monthly Pre-Vendor Advisory Committees (VAC) and VAC meetings.
  • Explore ways to improve processes for efficiency, consumer safety, and customer service daily.
  • Complete annual transportation orientations alongside the Mobility and Transportation Liaison for all new interested transportation vendors as assigned.
  • Complete rate negotiations and contracts for all transportation vendors.
  • Provide technical assistance for all potential vendors including, but not limited to, cost statements, 1:1 request, Transportation Service Request (TSR) information, etc.
  • Assure consumers' rights and dignity are maintained in the provision of services.
  • Comply with and ensure program compliance with agency’s Personnel Policies and Procedures.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with others.
  • Perform as a member of a team, answer questions, share expertise and contribute to the harmony, efficiency and training of the team.
  • Represent the regional center interagency meetings.
  • Keep the Manager RDTU informed of pending work, work in progress, problems encountered, community needs, community liaison activities, and unusual or difficult case situations.
  • Maintain and expand relevant knowledge base.
  • Attend training sessions as required.
  • Use office equipment appropriately and report the need for any repairs.
  • Keep work area neat and orderly.
  • Observe all safety rules and comply with IRC’s Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and Workplace Violence Prevention Plan.­­ Notify Manager, RDTU of any unsafe working conditions.
  • Ability to handle a hybrid work environment consisting of working in the office and remotely at home while maintaining work productivity and efficiency; communicate via telephone calls, video conference calls, emails, and chat rooms.
  • Handle change well and be flexible and adaptable in dealing with interruptions, new priorities and new assignments.
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Utilize agency’s IT systems as assigned, maintaining security and following agency’s protocol and procedures, rules and requirements.
  • Successfully complete all assignments arising out of the agency’s Performance Contract.
  • Daily, maintain an adequate skill level in interpersonal and community relationships.
  • Perform different or additional work as assigned.
