STRUCTURAL is the open shop contracting business line of Structural Group. We are recruiting for a hands-on, construction-oriented Resource Manager to join our Lake Charles team. The Resource Manager will play an integral role in building a mutually respectful relationship with Field Management and Project Teams by partnering with them to create efficient and effective process systems to meet the demands of their construction projects. They will be the driving force in managing the maintenance and repair of all construction equipment, tools and vehicles.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years working in an equipment shop/warehouse environment with at least 2-3 of those years in a management role
  • Ability to multitask and handle prioritization of daily, weekly, monthly tasks
  • Must possess the mechanical ability and knowledge of maintaining construction equipment and tooling
  • Previous experience managing budgets and inventories, including reconciliation of supplies, parts, vehicles and equipment
  • Purchasing experience, placing PO’s, receiving processes, and managing inventory, performing cycle counts
  • Knowledge of Capital expenditure procedures
  • Experience in inventory management systems and MS Office Suite
  • Build strong team atmosphere, cross training team and developing bench strength
  • General warehouse knowledge and experience, process flow, inventory levels, and storage concepts
  • DOT experience
  • Attention to detail, timeline focused
  • Computer/systems proficiency, ordering, inventory, and data collection
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Self-starter needs minimal direction and guidance
  • Ability and skill set to integrate into cross functional teams
  • Previous experience operating a forklift
  • Proven ability to lift 60lbs

Responsibilities

  • Working with the team(s) to develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs on equipment and vehicles
  • Interacting with operations to level resources to effectively complete projects
  • Conducting training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques as well as operational procedures and equipment use
  • Working with vendors nationwide to source the most cost-effective purchasing options
  • Participating in budget preparation and administration.
  • Coordinates the acceptance, storage, and deliveries of materials and equipment in conjunction with the field managers and suppliers.
  • Keeps a log of all equipment in the warehouse and in the field.
  • Can track all equipment as required.
  • Tracks goods while they are in route to their destinations, expediting order(s) when necessary
  • Purchase of materials, supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Participates in project pre-planning and task-planning
  • Build strong relationships with field managers and project teams by collaborating with them.
  • Provides efficient service to meet the ever-changing needs of the field.
  • Assists with shipping and routing of materials and equipment
  • Monitors tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shop to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Inspects and monitors work areas, examines tools and equipment, and provides employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
  • Takes ownership of the warehouse, keeping it safe, clean, and organized always.
  • Works closely with mechanic to make sure all equipment is job ready when it leaves shop.
  • Ensures returning equipment is properly tagged, stored, and serviced for future use.
