About The Position

The Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) position at Tetra Tech involves working on-site to support energy conservation and resilience improvements for U.S. Marine Corps facilities in Japan and South Korea. The role focuses on identifying energy conservation opportunities, implementing projects, and facilitating energy management services to reduce energy consumption and costs while enhancing environmental sustainability.

Requirements

  • 5 to 12+ years of experience in energy management or energy engineering.
  • Strong HVAC background and experience with energy auditing and project development.
  • Knowledge of utility information systems and energy management technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, especially in MS Excel and database applications.
  • BS in engineering or energy-related field is required.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation is required or must be obtained within 1 year.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to speak Japanese or Korean is a plus.
  • Previous experience working at Federal / Department of Defense facilities, particularly Marine Corps or Navy bases.

Responsibilities

  • Identify energy conservation opportunities and facilitate the implementation of projects and initiatives.
  • Develop energy efficiency improvements for facilities.
  • Conduct daily facility walks to perform energy audits and identify conservation opportunities.
  • Develop distributed generation and renewable energy projects.
  • Provide energy training to staff and stakeholders.
  • Perform design reviews and analyze energy and utilities data.
  • Recommend improvements to energy and utility procurement and operations.
  • Write technically sound audit reports and other documentation.
  • Support the implementation of energy projects in collaboration with Navy clients and partner REMs.
