Resource Coordinator The Resource Coordinator provides comprehensive support services to participants in JEVS Reentry Programs. This role is responsible for developing Individual Development Plans (IDPs), delivering job readiness training behind the walls, and guiding participants through the reentry process. The Resource Coordinator supports individuals selected for the OICA pre-release program at the Montgomery County Department of Prisons (MCDP) and individuals who have participated in JEVS Reentry Programs. The RC facilitates group and individual instruction in life skills, employability skills, and cognitive behavioral training. In addition, the RC provides referrals and assistance with accessing wraparound support services to help participants successfully transition into the community and employment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Appropriate experience or special training may be substituted in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in case management and job readiness preparation within adult social services, specifically with returning citizens is a plus.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of special populations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience teaching/training in a classroom setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and collaborate with a variety of customers and partners, including but not limited to those individuals in the reentry population and related social service agencies.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (especially MS Word and Excel).
  • Adhere to JEVS Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pre-release participants and returning citizens with identifying and addressing barriers to employment
  • Support participants in achieving program goals through retention services, emphasizing attendance, punctuality, and positive work ethic
  • Provide ongoing individual counseling to address barriers, support goal attainment, and promote participant retention
  • Maintain accurate counseling notes and prepare required statistical and narrative reports
  • Follow all program procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with Job Developers on job matching, placement planning, and retention tracking
  • Facilitate individual and group life skills and work-based training activities
  • Document participant attendance, progress, and outcomes in JEVS and funder databases
  • Monitor participants' on-the-job progress and intervene as needed to resolve issues
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other programmatic or agency-wide activities as assigned
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, referral agencies, and support service providers
  • Assess participant needs and provide appropriate referrals, follow-up, and coordination of services
  • Act as a referral agent for behavioral health, housing, employment, legal, and family-related services and provide follow-up support
  • Guide participants in developing the skills needed to independently resolve challenges
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate individuals toward success
  • Provide timely, high-quality customer service to participants and partners
  • Communicate effectively with the Program Director, Job Developers, and instructional staff
  • Serve as the Resource Coordinator for assigned participants and meet all eligibility, documentation, and follow-up requirements
  • Assist participants in becoming job-ready by addressing personal challenges and securing supportive services such as childcare, transportation, work attire, and counseling
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all participant records, both electronic and hard copy
  • Collaborate with the Integrated Job Development Team to support timely employment placement
  • Track and manage participant files, placement records, and success stories
