About The Position

The Resource Case Manager at Open Door Mission's Garland Thompson Men's Center is responsible for managing a caseload of men in need of emergency shelter and resources. This role focuses on ensuring that each guest can meet their basic needs, such as housing and identification, while connecting them to community organizations and partners as necessary. The position emphasizes a commitment to Christian ministry and aims to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field.
• At least two years of case management experience in a social service organization.
• Proficient with Google G-suite and general computer operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A solid, visible relationship with Christ.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Social Work (BSW).
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Meet one-on-one with guests at the Garland Thompson Men's Center.
• Connect guests to applicable agencies and programs according to their specific circumstances and needs.
• Ensure guests have access to the resources they need.
• Set goals with guests and hold them accountable for working toward them.
• Maintain excellent documentation regarding caseload.
• Provide emergency crisis counseling, problem-solving, and de-escalation when necessary.
• Exemplify Jesus Christ daily, sharing the gospel or praying with others as opportunities arise.
