One of the most beloved resorts in New England, The Woodstock Inn & Resort, is seeking a Resort Mechanical Technician to join the team! Job Summary:  The Resort Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining the Resorts’ facilities, and mechanical equipment to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for guests and staff. This role involves routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across multiple systems including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and general building mechanical systems upkeep.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in building or resort/hotel mechanical maintenance (or related field).
  • Expert knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems, and general repair techniques.
  • Ability to read work orders, and project specifications.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • OSHA tag out lock out training.
  • Ensure work, and work site complies with OSHA and Vermont state laws, regulations and statutes.
  • Technical certification or trade school training.
  • Possess computer skills.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and use hand and power tools safely.
  • Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality of privileged and pertinent resort data and information.
  • Must possess a valid drivers' license & clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hospitality or multi‑unit residential properties Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and hotel brand standards, preferred not required.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and report or correct them promptly.
  • EPA certification, HVAC certification, or electrical/plumbing licenses, preferred not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of air handlers, drive systems, pumps, that serve guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records.
  • Enforce safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate effectively with resort management, guest services, and housekeeping teams.
  • Recommend upgrades or improvements to improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to take call-in during the off hours and respond to emergencies as needed.
