About The Position

The Resort Maintenance Supervisor is a key player in maintaining and performing construction activities at Killington Resort. The department also provides maintenance support to all other departments at Killington with a major focus on F&B operations, Staff Lodging maintenance as well as commercial area repairs in the Killington Grand Hotel. Killington Resort encompasses 7 major lodges, multiple large maintenance & snow making buildings, 3 staff lodging units as well as multiple small buildings related to lifts, ski patrol and snowmaking. Primarily responsible for managing a crew of 10-15 technicians and seasonal workers as well as interacting with numerous contractors that service our buildings and systems within. To include: Time gathering and payroll management of the crew. Scheduling and resource management to assure adequate maintenance coverage throughout the year. Performance management of staff. Summer construction projects and maintenance projects are prevalent from May through November during our off-winter season. The Supervisor will be a key player in planning, costing and execution of these projects. To include: Utilizing plans and or concept, develop pricing for various projects around the resort. Recognize best practices for various phases of construction and maintenance projects. Be the lead on these projects as assigned by the Resort Maintenance Manager. The Supervisor needs to have a solid set of construction skills, ability to obtain or hold an LP Gas certification (CETP) as well as solid leadership skills to guide the staff of Resort Maintenance. The Supervisor works alongside the Resort Maintenance Master Electrician in supervising all staff in the department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of construction, maintenance or technical experience.
  • Valid driver’s license, without major infractions/ability to pass a MVR check
  • Ability to write and communicate effectively.
  • CETP qualified or ability to achieve LP gas certification.
  • Strong mechanical skills in plumbing, HVAC and carpentry.
  • Mechanical skills to evaluate and repair various F&B equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot various pieces of equipment from F&B units to heating equipment
  • Ability to read & interpret building plans.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PPT)
  • Basic mechanical and carpentry tools
  • Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of company personnel as well as customers, property owners, vendors, and others outside the company.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership on a primary basis to technicians, seasonal staff and others in the RM group.
  • Assign, provide supervision and completion follow-up on daily and project-based work orders.
  • Perform as a working supervisor on certain tasks and projects.
  • Evaluate and follow up on work order queue and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Recognize problems and follow up on building deficiencies and best practices for repair.
  • Provide exceptional safety awareness and training.
  • Always provide superior service to our customers (internal and external). Follow the Resort Etiquette Guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous, efficient manner.
