About The Position

Madden’s is currently seeking Seasonal Resort Grounds Maintenance positions who will be involved in all aspects of the grounds and landscaping for Maddens on Gull.

Requirements

Communications skills should be at a level where employees can converse with guests and other employees.
Ability to work in a team and coordinate work functions with fellow workers.
Maintains a proactive “Can-do” attitude.
Follows Madden’s “Core Values”
Valid driver’s license required.
Primarily walking or standing for prolonged periods of time.
Must have the ability to stand, walk, talk/hear, both in person and by telephone, occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50-pound boxes and sometimes up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

Operates a Toro, John Deere, or EZ-GO utility vehicle and grounds equipment as assigned.
Patrols designated areas of the resort to remove trash and debris from roads, parking lots, turf areas, landscaped spaces, and common areas.
Performs routine beach maintenance, including removal of weeds, debris, and occasional dead fish as needed.
Operates a commercial grade zero-turn up to 60” deck mower on larger turf areas.
Mows and trims turf areas as directed by the Resort Grounds Foreman.
Pulls weeds and assists with maintenance of flower beds, gardens, and landscaped areas.
Reports any landscape or irrigation problems to the Resort Grounds Foreman.
Cleans utility vehicle and other equipment at wash pad.
Fill out work orders for mechanics to perform any necessary maintenance or repairs.
Assists with seasonal and special projects, which may include sod installation, leaf cleanup, brush cutting on steep banks, wood splitting, and related tasks.
Complete daily chores assigned on job board.
Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas.
Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Golf and Grounds Assistant superintendent.
Incorporates safe work practices into all job duties and follows required PPE guidelines.
You must wear proper footwear and protective equipment.
Understands and adheres to Madden’s Smoking and Tobacco Products policy.
Attend training and staff meetings.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Interact professionally with guests and respond respectfully to guest needs if approached.
Weekend shifts are required at the discretion of the Grounds foreman.
