About The Position

The Resort Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, safety, and compliance of all resort-owned vehicles and equipment. This role ensures the fleet is reliable, cost-effective, and aligned with the resort’s service standards, supporting departments such as transportation, maintenance, housekeeping, security, golf, and guest services. Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field preferred
  • 5 years of fleet management, transportation, or maintenance experience, preferably in hospitality or resort operations
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with fleet management software and record-keeping systems
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage budgets, analyze data, and negotiate with vendors
  • Ability to work outdoors and in maintenance environments
  • Occasional lifting, bending, and walking across resort property
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays as needed

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the resort’s fleet, including cars, vans, shuttles, carts, trucks, trailers, and specialty equipment
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure safety, reliability, and longevity of vehicles
  • Coordinate vehicle repairs, inspections, registrations, and licensing in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Oversee fleet budgeting, cost control, fuel usage, and vendor contracts to optimize operational expenses
  • Maintain accurate fleet records, including maintenance logs, mileage, fuel consumption, and asset tracking
  • Ensure all fleet operations meet all safety standards
  • Collaborate with department leaders to assess transportation needs and recommend fleet enhancements or replacements
  • Manage fleet procurement, leasing, and disposal of vehicles and equipment
  • Supervise fleet staff and/or coordinate with internal teams and external vendors as needed
  • Support sustainability initiatives by evaluating fuel efficiency, alternative vehicles, and environmentally responsible practices
  • Respond to operational issues or emergencies related to fleet availability and safety
  • All other duties as assigned.
