About The Position

The position involves working a 12-hour day shift from 6am to 6pm, assisting with various warehouse activities as needed. Responsibilities include identifying issues and performing corrective actions, ensuring compliance with departmental and company schedules, and assisting colleagues to maintain smooth warehouse operations. The role also involves providing recommendations for process improvements, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and performing approved operator-level equipment maintenance. Safety is a priority, with expectations to execute PPE safety standards and escalate any issues related to safety, quality, and productivity. The position requires monitoring departmental 5S activities, ensuring compliance, and completing all relevant warehouse documentation accurately and timely. Additionally, the role includes transporting materials between warehouses and production, reporting any issues to supervisors, and ensuring adherence to line clearance and scrap procedures. Proper storage of materials and verification of the Goods Received process are also key responsibilities, along with assisting in packing and material handling when short-staffed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Sitting and Standing over differing long periods of time
  • Daily warehouse cleaning tasks and 5s activities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to operate a forklift (experience with other powered equipment a plus)
  • Commitment to getting tasks done in a timely, accurate manner
  • Ability to perform material handler and packer responsibilities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in inventory best practices
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications required and SAP experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist warehouse activities during times when asked
  • Identify issues and perform corrective actions
  • Work in accordance with set departmental/company 12-hour schedule
  • Assist colleagues when necessary to ensure a smooth running of the warehouse
  • Provide recommendations on process improvements
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives implementation
  • Perform specific approved operator level equipment maintenance
  • Execute PPE safety standards while ensuring escalation of issues such as the adherence to PPE
  • Monitor departmental 5S activities, ensuring compliance and standards are met
  • Ensure all warehouse documentation applicable to the job is completed in a timely, accurate manner
  • Transport and/or facilitate the movement of material between warehouses and to production and quality
  • Report any safety, quality and productivity issues to supervisors and managers
  • Make sure operators are properly using tools and equipment while escalating damage or non-adherence
  • Ensuring that L2 (MH) line clearance procedures are adhered to
  • Ensure all scrap procedures are being adhered to
  • Maintain proper storage of materials and indirect supplies
  • Verify Goods Received (GR) process steps are being accurately followed
  • Make sure materials are being staged properly and FIFO (First-In-First-Out) is being followed
  • Cover and assist L1 (Packer) and L2 (Material Handler) when short staffed or needed
