The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation is the state's lead conservation agency, and it takes a diverse agency to work for a diverse commonwealth. DCR works with Virginians to conserve and enhance their lands and improve the quality of the Chesapeake Bay and Virginia rivers and streams DCR protects what people care about - access to the outdoors, natural habitats, open spaces, clean water, and safe outdoor recreation infrastructure. The mission of the DCR Office of Resilience Planning is to distribute knowledge and coordinate action to achieve a flood-resilient future for Virginia through informed planning and proactive intergovernmental solutions. Our vision is a Virginia where state-led solutions effectively confront present and future flood risks. Through aligned collective action across Virginia's community of flood resilience partners, we work to increase resilience and minimize the impacts of flooding statewide. Under the supervision of the Office of Resilience Planning Program Manager, the Resilience Planner will work along the Senior Resilience Planner to support the development, administration, and implementation of DCR's flood resilience planning efforts.
