Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus six months experience in a behavioral health or social service setting preferred, high school diploma plus one year of experience in a behavioral health or social services setting required.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to become CPR & CPI certified.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to train and lead staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Counsels or provides similar diagnostic or therapeutic services to mentally disturbed, delinquent, or disabled youths.
  • Monitors with Nursing services the administration and documentation of medication (in the appropriate setting).
  • Intervenes in crisis situations when appropriate.
  • Monitors therapy, planning, goal evaluation, treatment planning, problem solving groups, and setting expectations.
  • Maintains and implements the RE-ED philosophy.
  • Supervises the onsite development of each group site.
  • Coordinates the short and long term development of group sites.
  • Develops, promotes and implements assigned cottage projects.
  • Coordinates the trip planning activities of each group.
  • Provides general leadership at team meetings.
  • Ensures daily inspection(s) of cottage for cleanliness, safety and maintenance by designated staff with results provided to the Director of Residential Services as requested.
  • Works with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure maintenance needs of groups are met.
