About The Position

The Residential Treatment Specialist / Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) provides services and support for clients to help them develop appropriate skills to increase or maintain their level of functioning. These services may include mental health services, rehabilitation services, social services, personal services, medical, dental, and other health care services, educational services, financial management services, coordination of legal services, vocational services, transportation, recreational and leisure activities, and other services required to meet a resident’s needs as defined in their personal care plan. This role involves direct interaction with residents to promote recovery.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a bachelor's degree in a social services field, or a combination of three years of experience.
  • Three years of experience or a combination of education and experience in psychology, counseling, or a related field.
  • Preference for MHACBO QMHA certification at time of hire.
  • Ability to interact and relate to residents, staff, and others with respect and dignity.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deal with clients experiencing crisis situations.
  • Functional knowledge of business English and medical terminology.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of using Microsoft Office and EMR systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a social service setting.
  • Certification in CPR.
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide residential care that meets the provision of room, board, care and services that assist the resident with ADLs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to document daily clinical information concisely and thoroughly.
  • Complete timely progress notes and document treatment in line with the treatment plan.
  • Document critical incidents using Incident Reports.
  • Conduct/facilitate appropriate skills and activity groups oriented to treatment needs.
  • Complete documentation upon client admittance including Monthly Summaries and Residential Assessments.
  • Assist with the completion of client intake packets.
  • Coordinate and manage cases with guardians and counties.
  • Maintain current resident records and perform monthly audits.
  • Stay awake and alert throughout the shift.
  • Assist residents in personal self-management activities.
  • Transfer residents using appropriate training and guidelines.
  • Administer prescribed medications and document accordingly.
  • Supervise and assist in meal preparation and feeding of residents.
  • Conduct evacuation/fire drills as assigned.
  • Orient, train, and work with residents to perform in a recovery-oriented manner.
  • Receive training prior to giving care and maintain CPR certification.
  • Participate in inventory and ordering of client or program supplies.
  • Maintain clean, sanitary, and safe conditions.
  • Report any suspected violations or abuse according to policies.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
  • Create and implement group tracking documents.
  • Assist the QMHP in tracking progress towards goals.
  • Track all billable services provided to each client.
  • Work 1:1 with clients to help them develop basic life skills.
  • Provide medication education and documentation in the MAR.
  • Follow the policies and procedures of Community Counseling Solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
