About The Position

New Location Coming Soon! We are looking for a few people to be on the opening staff for Marion Lifestyle Recovery at Appalachian Center for Hope . Must be available to train in Abingdon or Bristol until the Marion facility opens . Residential Technicians —Supports and monitors individuals in men's residential substance use disorder treatment center, helping maintain a safe, structured, and recovery focused environment while modeling professionalism and healthy boundaries. CNA preferred but not required. Full Time Day Shift - some weekend availability required (we will be hiring two initially--all shifts will be available in the near future) Part-Time PRN (as needed) for Marion, Abingdon & Bristol locations - weekends

Requirements

  • Must be able to dependably work, with weekend availability
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Background check must show eligibility to work in a direct care setting in Virginia
  • Drug Screening is required
  • Valid Driver's License/good driving status

Responsibilities

  • Provide overwatch of the Residents and program implementation.
  • Appropriately interacts with clients by adhering to the agency’s Policies and Procedures, Employee Code of Ethics and assigned according to Shift responsibilities.
  • Perform necessary housekeeping activities to ensure cleanliness and order of facility and/or client area.
  • Assists nursing staff in obtaining client information and Medication Administration (certification required).
  • Respond to medical emergencies and other potential crisis situations (verbal or physical) by utilizing agency approved methods such as CPR, first aid, universal precautions, Therapeutic Options, and other approved program procedures.
  • Assist clinical staff in carrying out daily program schedule by supervising clients in assigned educational activities through videos and other assigned exercises.
  • Provides help to the Food Services Department as requested and prepares meals as assigned.
  • Provides security services; primarily on the third or late shift.
  • Ensures the safety and security of program residents, staff, facility, and its physical property.
  • Employs nonviolent crisis intervention techniques in situations requiring intervention and reflecting training and competent assessment of the situation/circumstances per Therapeutic Options certification protocols.
  • Intervenes when need is identified per program policies and procedures with a resident who may be experiencing distress or is in crisis or presents a danger to self or to others.
  • If any legal intervention or arrest occurs with the staff member for any reason, including traffic violations, the incident must be reported to the staff member’s supervisor via email or other written format within 24 hours of the offense.
  • Knowledgeable about confidentiality (HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2) regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
  • All training required by VA DBHDS licensing to work in a residential behavioral health setting.
