The Residential Technician serves as a direct residential care provider in group home or facility environments, which includes awake 24/7 staff. The role involves providing direct care and working with external support systems such as families. Responsibilities include assisting individuals with acquiring, retaining, or improving skills related to activities of daily living, such as personal grooming, cleanliness, bed making, and household chores. The technician also supports adolescents in attending school and completing homework, while providing assistance with social and adaptive skills, including problem-solving and coping with behavioral issues and trauma, to enhance community tenure in appropriate settings.

  • Provide oversight and monitoring of individuals served behavior and activities.
  • Prompt and coach individuals with daily living needs such as bathing, cleaning, social interaction, etc. as needed by each individual.
  • Successfully complete medication training and deliver medication to individuals as prescribed with appropriate documentation.
  • Drive a 15-passenger van and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Record/chart pertinent information and observations, resident discussions, plans, progress, skills and abilities.
  • Implement individualized plans, collect data and submit to supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate residential and community socialization activities as selected by individuals.
  • Maintain the environment in a neat and clean manner.
  • Maintain inventory lists and alert supervisor of any low inventories and special needs.
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-services and individual program planning staffings as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma; Bachelor's degree in mental health field preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health or substance use disorders preferred.
  • Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Verbal/written communication skills.
