As a Residential Support Specialist (RSS), you will have the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of pregnant and parenting teens and young adults aged 17-24. In this role, you will work one-on-one and in groups with youth facing mental health challenges, assisting them in learning and practicing essential skills related to relationships, school success, recreational activities, health and wellness, early career experiences, and day-to-day living. You will also play a crucial role in ensuring safety by helping youth regulate and safely express their emotions, utilizing Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) skills. Your daily responsibilities will include teaching independent living skills such as hygiene and housekeeping, helping residents prepare meals, modeling relationship-building skills, and coaching youth on coping strategies. Additionally, you will maintain a safe and inviting living environment by regularly cleaning the residence and documenting clients' progress, medication management, and recovery processes as they transition into adulthood.
