About The Position

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direction and oversight of all residential advisors working in the Transitional Housing Residential Program Provide direction and oversight of daily operations of the Transitional Housing Residential Program Develop daily/weekly/monthly schedule for residents and residential advisors and monitor implementation of schedule to ensure consistency Ensure formal and informal resident training in facility is conducted according to funding source, policy or supervisor directive Completion and documentation of Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Assessments for all residents Collaborate and develop relationships with referral sources and other social service providers Ensure monthly data and documentation follows established billing and reporting procedures as defined by funding source, policy or supervisor Conduct and document room inspections on regular basis Monitor expenditures for program food, supplies, activities and repairs Ensure timely and appropriate responses are made related to any emergency or urgent needs related to resident or facility wellbeing or safety based on funding source, policy and supervisor directive Conduct tours and educate potential residents and other service providers of rules, requirements, and goals of the Transitional Housing Residential Program Conduct and document staff trainings on a regular basis Conduct and document resident meetings on a regular basis Attend and actively participate in management team meetings Monitor quality of residential program services through established reviews, tools, or other mechanisms REQUIRED SKILLS: I. PROVISION FOR RESIDENTIAL SUPERVISOR SERVICES: A. Ensure resident advisors follow the daily schedule for the facility B. Ensure adequate coverage for the Transitional Housing Residential Program with C. Review daily/weekly/monthly schedules on a regular basis to ensure program meets the needs of residents; make adjustments to schedule as indicated by feedback and observation D. Ensure each resident’s Individual Plan of Care for the facility is followed by the resident advisors E. Collaborate with service coordinators and resident advisors to ensure Individual Plans of Care reflect appropriate goals and targeted outcomes for individual residents F. Document all activities and services provided in facility according to funding requirements, policy, and Project Director G. Develop action plans for concerns from residents, resident advisors or Project Director related to services provided in the facility and related to implementation of residents’ Individual Plan of Care H. Respond timely and appropriately to any emergency or urgent needs related to wellbeing or safety of residents and facility based on funding requirements, policy, or Project Director directive I. Ensure Project Director is notified of any emergency or urgent needs related to wellbeing or safety of residents and facility J. Establish ongoing rapport with residents and assists them with learning and implementing skills in the facility and in the community K. Respond to resident and resident advisor needs in a timely manner L. Ensure residents and his/her identified support systems are treated with respect and dignity M. Implement training activities and monitor quality of services being delivered by resident advisors N. Report to Project Director regarding progress, regression or recommendations related to residents and staff O. Conduct and document meetings for residents and Residential Advisors P. Maintain accurate daily/weekly census including admission and discharge dates for residents Q. Complete monthly data and documentation following established billing and reporting procedures as defined by funding source, policy, or Project Director R. Review and submission of resident advisors’ timesheets and other administrative documentation S. Ensure that monthly expenditures for foods, activities, supplies, etc. do not exceed budget T. Conduct quality assurance activities and reviews based on funding requirements, policy, and Project Director U. Attend and actively participate in management staff meetings to open lines of communication and stay informed of agency and program changes V. Maintain a 40-hour work week II. RESIDENT FILE MAINTENANCE A. Records, plans, legal forms, and other documentation are kept accurate and up to date B. All services provided are documented and appropriately signed and dated and in the appropriate location in the chart based on funding source, policy, and Program Director C. Documentation reflects current services, interventions, participant participation, progress toward goals and/or any challenges or barriers to achieving goals III. PROVIDES ASSISTANCE OR FILLS IN FOR RESIDENT ADVISOR SHIFTS AS NEEDED AND DIRECTED BY PROJECT Director IV. PARTICIPATE IN DEVELOPMENT AND PUBLIC RELATIONS ACTIVITIES TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AND MARKET PROGRAM SERVICES. V. PROGRAM MANAGEMENT A. Provides input and assistance to Program Director in the preparation of program reports, outcomes or other program specific data as requested B. Work with the Program Director to ensure maximum collaboration and coordination with other Easterseals staff, e.g., administrative assistants, other project Directors, service coordinators, program development staff, etc. C. Work collaboratively with the Program Director in evaluating program effectiveness and compliance within funding source requirements, policy compliance and program goals. Assist with developing quality improvement actions to ensure a high level of service delivery D. Prepare for staff and resident meetings to facilitate open discussions to ensure open lines of communication and utilize problem solving strategies E. Complete annual performance evaluations for all Residential Advisors on staff and develop and document corrective action plans as indicated by individual staff performance F. Maintain knowledge of current funding source requirements, program deliverables, program budget and program utilization G. STAFF DEVELOPMENT A. Participate in training activities and programs as required by funding source, policy, and Program Director B. Participate in trainings for certifications, credentials or specialties as determined appropriate by Easterseals Louisiana, funding source or Program Director C. Complete a minimum of 40 hours of training per year D. Provide individual and group training for Residential Advisors at a minimum upon hire and annually; provide ongoing training and support as needed COMPETENCIES: A. Requirements

  • Experience with residential treatment/24-7 type programs strongly preferred
  • Minimum of a high school education; some college is preferred
  • Must possess and be able to verbalize a thorough understanding of recovery and resiliency related to behavioral health
  • Must have own reliable transportation
  • Able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have basic skills to use a computer: word processing, browsers and web-based applications
  • Must be a team player
  • The employee is regularly required to operate a computer, file and retrieve written documents, communicate with others on the phone, and in-person
  • The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands, and lift and/or move lightweight items
  • Move independently within the facility and community, include climb stairs
  • Must be able to travel and meet with participants as needed
