About The Position

The primary function of this role is to provide for the continuous direction and day-to-day operation of the program. Provide oversight for all assigned individuals and supervision to all assigned staff.

Requirements

  • Must maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion concerning all business-related matters, including but not limited to board/vendors/donors’ names, investigations, finance, operations, and employee relations matters.
  • Must be willing to complete specific company required trainings as mandated by our governing agency, Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), at time of hire and annually thereafter.
  • Must adhere to all departmental /company policies & procedures at all times & ensure compliance with direct report.
  • Maintain AMAP certification.
  • Minimum high school degree with five years’ experience in the human service field; or combination of related degree and relevant experience.
  • Min 2 years’ experience in supervisory role to include; performance management, coaching, and performance reviews.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs to include Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
  • Ability to navigate electronic documentation program (i.e. Medisked, Evero).
  • Ability to complete online training requirements.
  • Mature interpersonal/professional skills to effectively collaborate, resolve issues and maintain confidentiality.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong numerical comprehension
  • Demonstrated ability to use poise, tact, and diplomacy, during difficult and/or stressful situations
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, and customer requests, while meeting deadlines
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs to include Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and electronic medical record systems (e.g., Medisked)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License-a vehicle is required for business travel
  • Obtain all required training within 90 days of being hired and updates as required
  • Must be able to talk, hear, stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time; may have to twist, bend, use hand to finger, stretch with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus
  • May be exposed to strong odors from time to time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Employee must be able to perform Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention - Revised (SCIP-R) if required
  • Must be able to perform CPR and first aid if required
  • While performing the duties of this position, exposure to changing weather conditions will occur.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the health and well-being of the individuals EPI serves.
  • Ensure adequate staffing to meet the individuals’ needs.
  • Follow up on all employee documentation ensuring it is accurate and up to date.
  • Report all policy violations to appropriate personnel.
  • Schedule and facilitate staff meetings that include a robust training component.
  • Participate in all individuals’ referrals, admissions, placement, and discharge.
  • Ensure compliance of documentation requirements as applicable (i.e. daily notes, monthly fire drills and other pertinent documentation).
  • Review and sign off on all billing documentation to ensure Agency compliance.
  • Maintain ongoing, cooperative communication with family members, service providers, community partners, peers, supervisors, clinical professionals and administration.
  • Provide positive role modeling for staff and residents.
  • Provide on-going supervision and program training for all assigned staff; ensure Agency-wide training is compliant.
  • Serve as on-call on a rotating basis.
  • Assist individuals with toileting and personal care needs when necessary.
  • Ensure all vehicle paperwork is completed; checks daily and follows up with staff as necessary.
  • Promote workplace safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Program Manager and/or designee within scope of practice.
  • Complete and distribute monthly activity calendar.
  • Participate on various committees as able.
