About The Position

The Residential Specialist implements individual rehabilitation plans by providing direct psychiatric rehabilitation services and skills training to individuals recovering from mental illness. The Residential Specialist works with consumers in their homes by providing the support to assist consumers in developing the skills necessary for independence and success. Every other Saturday and Sunday: 9am - 9pm

Requirements

A high school diploma is required and experience in human service delivery is preferred.
Ability to work as a part of a team is necessary.
A clean driving record is required.
Ability to respect individual choice in the recovery process and a commitment to recovery through the psychiatric rehabilitation process is required.
Also, this position requires strong verbal communication skills and the ability to respect the choices and limitations of residents.

Responsibilities

Assist consumers with implementing Individual Rehabilitation Plans to reach goals
Facilitate group and individual activities
Provide transportation to assist consumers in using community resources
Document in logbook and complete incident reports as needed by end of shift.
Assist consumers with independent living skills
Communicate with supervisors and other employees to ensure continuum of service
Provide residential program coverage
Perform medication monitoring
Engage in crisis management
Perform other duties as requested by supervisors
Utilize computer systems (Electronic Health Record, Time/Attendance, Email, etc.)
