The Residential Services Worker (RSW) plays a crucial role in the Emergency Housing Program at the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center, responsible for monitoring shelter participants and ensuring compliance with program rules. This position involves direct support to homeless singles, promoting their safety and well-being while they work towards securing permanent housing. RSWs are expected to utilize a trauma-informed approach and maintain a clean and secure environment within the shelter.

  • Monitor activities of shelter participants and ensure compliance with established rules and guidelines.
  • Maintain comprehensive written records of events in the program log during shifts.
  • Conduct intakes, assessments, and referrals as needed.
  • Review individual intake forms for completion and accuracy.
  • Control contraband in the facility through observation and searches if necessary.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the facility and monitor participant cleaning assignments.
  • Provide supervision throughout the shift and ensure the safety of participants.
  • Communicate effectively with a high-risk population to minimize potential issues.
  • Experience working with at-risk populations is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to document effectively and work as part of a team.
  • A 4-year college degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Housing First principles and SPDAT assessments is preferred.
  • Pay rate of $18.00 - $19.00 per hour.
  • Flexible scheduling with various shifts available.
