About The Position

The Residential Service Electrician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining residential electrical systems. This role involves working with various electrical fixtures and systems, ensuring compliance with current electrical codes, and providing excellent customer service to homeowners.

Requirements

• Valid state electrician license.
• Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in residential settings.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety standards.
• Ability to use testing devices and tools effectively.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain residential electrical systems, wiring, and fixtures, such as outlets, switches, light fixtures, and appliances.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve malfunctions or other issues in electrical systems using various testing devices like voltmeters and ohmmeters.
• Perform electrical upgrades, such as replacing outdated components, to ensure they comply with current electrical codes.
• Communicate with homeowners to explain the work required, provide cost estimates, and address any questions or concerns.
• Operate and maintain a company van or service vehicle, including performing pre-trip inspections, ensuring its cleanliness, and keeping it stocked with the necessary tools and materials.
• Plan delivery or service routes and organize the vehicle's stock to ensure efficient job completion.
• Document work orders, mileage, materials used, and repairs completed.
• Ensure all work adheres to state and local building regulations, based on the National Electrical Code.
