About The Position

The Residential Service Electrician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining residential electrical systems. This role involves working with various electrical fixtures and systems, ensuring compliance with current electrical codes, and providing excellent customer service to homeowners. The electrician will also be responsible for operating a service vehicle and maintaining accurate records of work performed.

Requirements

• State License in electrical work
• Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in residential settings
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components
• Ability to use testing devices like voltmeters and ohmmeters
• Excellent communication skills for customer interaction
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain residential electrical systems, wiring, and fixtures.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve malfunctions or issues in electrical systems using testing devices.
• Perform electrical upgrades to ensure compliance with current electrical codes.
• Communicate with homeowners to explain work required and provide cost estimates.
• Operate and maintain a company van or service vehicle, including pre-trip inspections.
• Plan delivery or service routes and organize vehicle stock for efficient job completion.
• Document work orders, mileage, materials used, and repairs completed.
• Ensure all work adheres to state and local building regulations.
