Our Coventry House Program is seeking a Residential Re-Entry Specialist Shift Lead for our 2nd Shift. As a Residential Re-entry Specialist Shift Lead you will provide direct supervision of youth residents and oversees daily shift operations at Coventry House. This role serves as the on-shift leader, ensuring program structure, safety, and therapeutic integrity are maintained. The Shift Lead directs Residential Re-Entry Specialists through daily routines, ensuring adherence to agency policies and trauma-informed care practices. This position promotes a safe, structured, and strength-based environment for adolescent males while supporting skill development, emotional regulation, and pro-social behavior.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree preferred with demonstrated familiarity of relevant experience, or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of two years of professional experience in human services, gender-responsive, strengths-based, and trauma-informed programming.
  • Must be able to work with challenging/resistant youth and families
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Must have the requisite understanding and commitment to the principles of gender specific, strength-based, culturally competent, relational, and trauma-informed principles in the delivery of programming and services for abused /neglected and/or adjudicated adolescents.
  • Possess the ability and willingness to effectively contribute as a team member, and leader, with the capacity to serve as a trainer when needed.
  • Exhibits excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Additional certifications will be required upon incumbency.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Spanish in oral and written communication is desired

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all shift operations to ensure safety, structure, and consistency.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for staff during the shift.
  • Provide real-time coaching, direction, and support to Residential Re-Entry Specialists
  • Ensure adherence to agency policies, program expectations, and TCI-informed practices.
  • Maintain the program in a constant state of readiness (cleanliness, organization, safety).
  • Maintain professional appearance in accordance with CSI dress code policy, consistently modeling appropriate attire, hygiene, and presentation for youth residents.
  • Model appropriate behavior, emotional regulation, and professional boundaries at all times.
  • Build positive, structured relationships with male youth using a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach.
  • Reinforce coping skills, problem-solving, and pro-social decision making.
  • Provide redirection, coaching, and interventions for behavioral challenges.
  • Hold youth appropriately accountable while maintaining a therapeutic environment.
  • Serve as the lead responder to behavioral or safety crises.
  • Implement de-escalation strategies and interventions consistent with TCI principles.
  • Ensure all safety protocols, including house counts and room checks, are completed accurately.
  • Maintain awareness of all youth locations and program activity at all times.
  • Immediately report and document incidents per CSI policy.
  • Mentor and support Residential Re-Entry Specialists and assist with training staff.
  • Conduct shift change duties, including communication, house count verification, and facility checks.
  • Complete and review all required documentation for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct routine facility checks and ensure a safe environment.
  • Ensure completion of chores and daily routines with youth participation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all youth and family information.
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and program planning as required.
  • May participate in an on-call rotation as assigned, providing guidance to staff and responding to program needs, including potential in-person support during emergencies or critical incidents.
  • Transport youth as needed in a company vehicle.
  • Participate in required trainings and perform other duties as assigned.
