About The Position

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving residential construction projects from start to finish , ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and at the highest level of quality. You will be the bridge between design, field teams, trade partners, and clients-bringing clarity, structure, and leadership to every project. This role requires a balance of strategic planning and hands-on execution . We are seeking someone with specific knowledge of DC zoning, codes, and permitting processes, as building in Washington, D.C. comes with unique considerations . You should also be technically proficient in building homes from the ground up and comfortable leading building inspections with local authorities to ensure compliance at every stage.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in residential construction project management (high-end/luxury preferred).
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and full-cycle home building operations.
  • Knowledge of Washington, D.C. zoning laws, codes, and permitting processes.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and build trust with clients and trade partners.
  • Experience managing and leading building inspections with local authorities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to anticipate challenges and adapt.
  • A mindset of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning, scheduling, and preparation to ensure projects start on time and are resourced effectively.
  • Build and maintain realistic schedules with trade and crew commitments.
  • Ensure materials are ready on time and anticipate project needs.
  • Manage execution by holding subs, vendors, and crews accountable for quality, budget, and deadlines.
  • Coordinate closely with design and operations teams to ensure seamless handoffs and proactive issue resolution.
  • Lead inspections with DC authorities and ensure all compliance standards are met.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, setting expectations early, providing updates, and ensuring a positive experience throughout construction.
  • Uphold Blue Star's reputation by modeling professionalism, communication, and respect in all interactions.

  • Base Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year (depending on experience).
