About The Position

The overall objective of the Residential Program Supervisor (RPS) is to create and maintain a small group living situation directed toward maximizing the independence of each resident and relating to each individual served, their family, guardian(s) and case manager on an individual basis. Working with the Director of Residential Services, the Residential Program Supervisor provides services in a manner, which ensures the highest quality person-centered planning and programming in order to achieve the fullest possible personal development of each person receiving services through Range Center, Inc. The Residential Program Supervisor provides leadership and direction to the Direct Support Professionals (DSP’s) working within the group home.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent, preferably with post-secondary training in the Human Services field.
  • Must meet the criteria for Designated Coordinator (DC) qualification as outlined in Department of Human Services (DHS) 245D standards.
  • Substantial experience in the design, implementation and monitoring of person-centered programs for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Substantial experience in staff supervision and training.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, professional oral and written communications.
  • Ability to provide in-service training to staff as needed.
  • Ability to function without close supervision.
  • Ability to lift weight unassisted (minimum 50 lbs.).
  • Valid Minnesota driver’s license (or obtained within 30 days).
  • Ability to pass a criminal background study through Minnesota’s Department of Human Services NetStudy 2.0.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in the Range Center, Inc. medication administration course within 6 weeks of employment date.
  • Successful completion of CPR certification within 6 weeks of employment date.

  • Ensure that all persons served are receiving services according to their rights and are free from abuse, neglect and financial exploitation.
  • Provide supervision, support, and evaluation of activities as per 245D statute.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individual’s program plans and attend team meetings.
  • Participate in resident admission and discharge processes.
  • Participate in licensing and compliance processes.
  • Manage overall day-to-day operations of the group home.
  • Provide direct supervision and observation of Direct Support Professionals (DSP’s) on all shifts.
  • Provide direct resident care (minimum of 20 hours per week).
  • Participate in the hiring process and make recommendations regarding staff hiring and disciplinary actions.
  • Supervise and monitor ongoing training and performance of Direct Support Professionals (DSP).
  • Create and monitor Direct Support Professional (DSP) schedules.
  • Supervise and monitor resident’s healthcare and group home budget.
  • Supervise and monitor group home maintenance and safety compliance.
  • Supervise and monitor group home appearance and housekeeping.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
