About The Position

The Mortgage Loan Processor & Closing Coordinator performs a full range of loan documentation duties on complex residential mortgage files. Responsibilities include processing, coordinating, and preparing loans for closing while ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to Ascend Bank’s loan policies.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of residential mortgage experience.

  • 2+ years of closing experience preferred.
  • Experience and understanding of FHA/VA/State Housing Agencies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison between borrowers, underwriters, originators, and third-party partners.
  • Provide timely status updates and return customer inquiries within one business day.
  • Manage borrower intake, data entry, and collection of required documentation.
  • Order and review credit, title, appraisal, and flood reports.
  • Prepare disclosures and run AUS for initial qualification.
  • Maintain compliant and secure files in the Data Management System.
  • Ensure full understanding of income analysis, title review, RESPA, TILA, TRID, and insurance requirements.
  • Maintain pipeline reporting and assign files to underwriting/closing.
  • Meet turn-time expectations and complete compliance training.
  • Conduct pre-closing file reviews for regulatory and loan policy compliance.
  • Prepare closing packages and funding requests.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and title companies on CDs, TRID timing, and required documentation.
  • Perform pre- and post-closing audits to verify accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage closing calendar, CD reports, and post-closing follow-up.
  • Support loan servicing in accurate booking of loans.
  • Update Closing Procedures Manual and respond to QC reports.
