We are currently recruiting for Residential Monitors/Counselor Assistants to work at our Women's Residential Facility in Lorain. Summary: The Residential Monitor/Counselor Assistant is responsible for monitoring and overseeing the daily activities of all residential clients and for facilitating program schedules and house processes. The Residential Monitor/Counselor Assistant is also responsible to provide childcare coverage for the Children’s Program as needed.

Requirements

  • Must adhere to the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board’s Chemical Dependency Code of Ethics, demonstrate an understanding of addiction as an illness.
  • Three years experience with treatment or recovery experience preferred.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to effectively work with Agency employees, outside contacts, and a diverse client population.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Residential Monitor – CDCA eligible required and must obtain CDCA within 90 days of employment.
  • Riveon Mental Health and Recovery PAYS FOR CDCA TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION FEE.
  • Applicants with a current CDCA are eligible to be considered for a Counselor Assistant position, which provides paraprofessional and clinical services.
  • Minimal, mostly confined to local travel.
  • Weekend shifts (2nd shift-4pm to 12am) and PRN (various shifts) available.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and assesses residents’ activities and performance during shift.
  • Reports any emergency situations to the Residential Coordinator.
  • Maintains daily records of activities, progress notes, and records problems in behavior,
  • Maintains log of client activities.
  • Reports on general condition with the residential facility on hourly basis.
  • Facilitates program schedules and all house processes during shift.
  • Ensures clients’ compliance with self-administered medication protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.
