About The Position

The Residential Manager (OPWDD & OMH) is responsible for ensuring that the needs of individuals supported in the program are met, promoting their rights, health, and safety, and helping them achieve personal outcomes. This role involves leading a team of Direct Support Professionals, collaborating with clinical providers, and developing individualized plans to support residents effectively.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent for OPWDD; Bachelor's Degree for OMH.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License and meet criteria to be a driver for the organization strongly preferred.
  • Minimum one year of supervisory experience; internal candidates may qualify under specific conditions.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or mental health disorders.
  • Proficient computer skills strongly preferred.
  • Proficient writing skills with a grasp of basic grammar and spelling.
  • Efficient, well-organized, and possess excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a nonprofit organization.
  • Knowledge of OPWDD and OMH regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with the people we support to ensure their rights, health, safety, and personal outcomes are always supported.
  • Advocate for the people we support in various situations.
  • Teach new life skills to the individuals supported.
  • Assist individuals in overcoming barriers to establish and maintain relationships and social roles.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with individuals, family members, and other providers involved in the program.
  • Guide the team and program using general business operations knowledge to ensure successful service delivery.
  • Supervise, train, evaluate, and observe assigned team members.
  • Interview, hire, develop, and retain high-quality staff.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed appropriately and timely.
  • Collaborate with external providers to align support and services with the needs of residents.
