About The Position

SERV, a well-established leader in behavioral healthcare in New Jersey, supports people with mental illness and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities as they achieve greater independence and life satisfaction through a wide range of services. The position is for a Masters level professional who will function as a manager of specific programs and functions to ensure daily operation, assist consumers to achieve stated goals and objectives, and manage (deliver) care to SMI clients.

Requirements

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, rehabilitative counseling, psychology, counseling, or other related behavioral health or counseling program discipline.
• Valid driver's license within the current state of residence and at least two years of driving history with a driving record in good standing.
• Must be 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Meet the direct service (face to face contact) expectation as determined by the annual goals.
• Utilize assessment and treatment skills.
• Provide comprehensive case management.
• Coordinate and collaborate with collateral care providers.
• Advocate and provide individual therapeutic rehabilitation skill development.
• Conduct illness management and recovery.
• Provide supportive counseling and family intervention as indicated.
• Perform crisis assessment and intervention (carrying and responding to a beeper).
• Provide discharge planning, medication mentoring, and education.
• Oversee site scheduling as necessary.
• Act as a team leader and provide day to day service provision of other staff (supervision to Counselors and Senior Counselors).
• Perform other duties as may, from time-to-time, be deemed appropriate by the supervisor.
