High Associates is seeking a motivated Intern to join our residential maintenance team in Lancaster County, PA . In this role, you’ll assist with the daily upkeep, repairs, and preventative maintenance of a busy apartment community. It’s a hands‑on, entry‑level opportunity designed for individuals who want to learn the fundamentals of residential property maintenance while helping ensure a safe, clean, and well‑maintained living environment for residents. No prior apartment maintenance experience is required, making this a great fit for anyone exploring residential maintenance or skilled trades. The internship runs for approximately twelve weeks during the Summer of 2026 starting in May 2026. This is a full‑time, onsite, paid internship scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Experience with summer/part-time jobs involving repairs, upkeep, or physical labor is
  • Basic familiarity with hand tools and the ability to perform simple physical tasks
  • Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and maintain a positive attitude
  • Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn new skills
  • Team player who possesses strong attention to detail
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work at our residential properties based in Lancaster, PA

Nice To Haves

  • Currently enrolled in technical/ vocational program
  • Exposure to construction, facilities, landscaping, custodial work, or trade coursework

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily maintenance and repair tasks for apartment homes, common areas, and community amenities
  • Help complete work orders involving basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and appliance maintenance under supervision
  • Support apartment make-ready processes, including cleaning, painting, and minor repairs
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned
  • Assist with groundskeeping, trash removal, and seasonal upkeep
  • Maintain clean and organized maintenance shop and work areas
  • Follow all safety procedures and properly use tools and equipment
  • Interact professionally with residents, vendors, and team members
