CMHA is looking to hire a 32 hour Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Residential. This position will be located at 66 Clinic Dr. New Britain, CT 06051. 1st shift, Friday-Monday. Compensation Range: The salary range for this position starts at $27.00 per hour. Compensation for each position is determined not only by years of relevant experience, education, and skills, but also by maintaining internal pay equity. Position Summary: Provides direct oversight and care of Residential and Community Support clients to insure appropriate and necessary client medical and psychiatric services within scope of license. Supervises and directs the Medication Management of all Residential and Community Support Programs while providing consultation and review of all referrals to insure appropriate attention to client needs.

Requirements

  • LPN Licensure in the State of Connecticut.
  • Valid Connecticut Driver’s License
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in behavioral health nursing/ in relevant clinical setting appropriate to population served, i.e. children, adult, mental health, and substance abuse.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the provision of medication monitoring/administration to program staff by writing monthly MAR sheets, training staff and participating in weekly team meetings to review client related medical and medication issues.
  • Reviews all referrals to Residential and Community Support/clinical programs for medical and psychiatric appropriateness by discussing with Medical Director and reviewing with area directors/program coordinators and assisting staff with development of treatment plans.
  • Reviews physical health of all clients and provides screenings to insure compliance with regulation and appropriate triage and referral.
  • Tracks program compliance with all Joint Commission, DPH, DCF, other licensing and regulatory agencies and Q.I. projects that pertain to client medical status.
  • Provides medical and psychiatric education to clients and their families by conducting individual, group and family meetings at program sites and in the community as well as providing documentation to the client’ medical record of all nursing interventions.
  • All other duties as assigned.
