About The Position
The Residential Leasing Coordinator with Affordable Housing Experience will play a crucial role in the leasing and management of a portfolio of new residential developments. This position is based in Jamaica, Queens, conveniently located near the subway, making it accessible for both staff and residents. The primary focus of this role is to ensure the successful leasing of properties while assisting with the day-to-day operations of the residential portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in affordable housing, particularly with tax credit properties, and will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall success of the leasing process. In this role, the Leasing Coordinator will be the main point of contact for prospective tenants, conducting property showings, and managing the leasing process from start to finish. This includes preparing and filing all necessary paperwork with government and rental agencies under the guidance of the Community Manager. The coordinator will also assist with annual recertifications to ensure compliance with HDC/HPD and DHCR rules and regulations, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of the affordable housing program. Customer service is a key component of this position, as the Leasing Coordinator will address resident issues related to operations and maintenance, ensuring a high level of satisfaction among tenants. Regular inspections of buildings and apartments will be conducted to maintain property standards, and the coordinator will be responsible for addressing any lease violations by notifying tenants and coordinating with the Accounts and Legal & Tenant attorney when necessary. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to upholding the standards of the residential community.
