About The Position

Join Our Team as a Residential Alcohol and Drug Counselor Location: Recovering Hope Treatment Center – Mora, Minnesota Position Type: Full-Time, Monday - Friday Salary: $65,000.00 - $81,250.00 Are you passionate about helping individuals build a path to recovery? At Recovering Hope Treatment Center, we’re seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Alcohol and Drug Counselor to join our clinical team. In this role, you’ll provide essential assessment, treatment planning, and counseling services while supporting clients through every stage of their recovery journey in accordance with Minnesota Rule 245G.

Requirements

  • Licensure as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the State of Minnesota in good standing, or a Temporary Permit in good standing.
  • Knowledge of Minnesota Statutes Chapter 245G, 245A, and applicable sections related to client care and safety.
  • Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ethical, client-centered care and professional growth.
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
  • Frequently communicate with employees, managers, patients, and other key individuals, requiring the ability to exchange accurate information.
  • Frequently move around the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive client assessments, including Comprehensive Assessment Surveys and GAIN-SS upon admission.
  • Develop and implement Initial Service Plans and individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and interventions.
  • Facilitate individual counseling, group counseling, and chemical dependency education sessions.
  • Maintain consistent communication with referral sources, providing updates within the first three days of admission and weekly thereafter.
  • Monitor client safety by assessing vulnerabilities and developing Individual Abuse Prevention Plans when appropriate.
  • Update and revise treatment plans regularly in collaboration with clients.
  • Document client participation, progress, and services in accordance with Center policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director and Mental Health Professionals regarding client care and progress.
  • Assist clients in developing individualized continuing care plans, including coordination of referrals for medical, mental health, and substance use services.
  • Provide support and resources to family members and other concerned persons to encourage ongoing recovery.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development related to substance use and co-occurring disorders.
  • Contribute to daily operations, including light housekeeping, kitchen duties, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.
