Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Residential HVAC Installation Technician
  • OSHA 10 and EPA Universal certifications required
  • Working knowledge of electrical wiring and system connections
  • Proficiency with HVAC tools, including pressure gauges, thermometers, and hand/power tools
  • Familiarity with local HVAC regulations and building codes
  • Comfortable working in crawl spaces and attics, and able to safely handle heavy equipment in confined areas
  • Physically capable of climbing stairs and ladders; standing, walking, bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, lifting, and operating tools as required
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve installation-related issues efficiently
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check

Nice To Haves

  • Certification or associate degree from an accredited HVAC technical program preferred
  • NATE certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Install HVAC systems in residential and commercial properties, including furnaces, air conditioners, air handlers, and ductwork, following manufacturer specifications and local building codes.
  • Connect electrical components and ensure proper wiring for heating and cooling equipment.
  • Install and connect sheet metal and flex duct systems to ensure proper airflow and ventilation.
  • Interpret drawings and schematics to understand system layouts and measurements.
  • Check for leaks, test airflow, and ensure proper system performance.
  • Perform diagnostic tests, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems as needed.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on air conditioning, heating units, and ventilation systems to prevent malfunctions.
  • Comply with all applicable standards, codes, policies, and safety procedures.
  • Communicate with customers about how to properly use their new HVAC equipment.
  • Work with other team members, contractors, and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.
  • Maintain and properly care for tools, equipment, and company vehicle.
