About The Position

Energy Analyst Washington-DC Metro / Hybrid Utility Program Services Overview ICF is seeking an Energy Analyst to support our utility program team in Maryland. This role involves working closely with the Program Manager to ensure the successful delivery of residential energy efficiency programs. The Energy Analyst will assist with a variety of tasks, including IT and marketing coordination, incentive invoice processing, client deliverables, customer inquiry resolution, regulatory reporting, budget management, inventory planning, and overall program administration.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple deadlines
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, climb stairs/ladders, and perform physical tasks in varied environments
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 + years of experience (energy efficiency, administration, or related fields)
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in utility energy efficiency programs, particularly in the residential sector
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., BPI BA-T/BA-P, RESNET HERS Rater, CEM, Certified Energy Engineer)
  • Familiarity with energy modeling software and building science principles
  • Knowledge of residential energy-efficient technologies and applications
  • Customer service and/or sales experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of tasks and achievement of program goals
  • Monitor regulated performance metrics and assist with adjustments to filed utility plans
  • Prepare client deliverables such as monthly progress reports, quarterly presentations, and regulatory filings
  • Maintain tracking tools, spreadsheets, and databases for program performance and reporting
  • Support stakeholder outreach and program recruitment efforts
  • Resolve and track customer inquiries and escalations
  • Process incentive invoices and ensure timely payment submissions
  • Manage program budgets and assist with financial tracking
  • Plan and manage inventory for program materials
  • Conduct residential energy assessments, evaluating building envelopes, mechanical systems, and lighting
  • Perform quality assurance/quality control inspections on completed residential projects
