About The Position

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Location: Residential Program, Brooklyn Schedule: Full-Time shifts (7am-3pm, 3-11pm and 11pm-9am) and Part-Time shifts (minimum 22 hrs/week) 😊Be the Reason Someone Smiles Today. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A valid NYS driver’s license
  • Willingness to complete and become certified in:
  • AMAP (meds)
  • CPR/First Aid
  • SCIP-R (crisis management)
  • A big heart, clear communication skills, and a can-do attitude!

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year working with people with developmental disabilities
  • Experience in residential or health-related settings
  • Strong teamwork and documentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support for daily living, including helping with meals, dressing, and personal care.
  • Teach important life skills such as cooking, shopping, and other household tasks.
  • Administer medication, assist with health routines (paid training included!)
  • Accompany individuals to medical appointments,
  • Encourage social connections, community engagement, and participation in fun activities.
  • Document your work and communicate regularly with your team
  • Handle challenges with respect, sensitivity, patience
