About The Position

Waste Connections is Hiring a Automated Side Load/Automated Front Load Driver in Opa Locka, FL! This is a full-time, year-round position. A typical schedule is Monday – Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed. The workweek is approximately 50-55 hours. Guaranteed routes on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday or Saturday will serve as the 5th day, but driving is not guaranteed on this day.

Requirements

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs without accommodation.
• At least 2+ years of stable job history, with most recent job being a CDL driver position.
• At least 2 years of CDL driving experience.
• No accidents on driving record in the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Automated Side Load/Automated Front Load garbage truck on specified routes to collect commercial solid waste.
• Ensure accurate and timely collection and disposal of waste by operating hydraulic systems to empty containers.
• Interact courteously with customers while performing the job.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working order.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed during collection and disposal.
• Perform a physically demanding job, including loading and unloading waste from front-load containers.
• Maintain cleanliness of the truck and work area.
• Follow route sheets and service each customer assigned by the dispatcher.
