SLS provides residential services to individuals living in group homes throughout Erie county. Supportive Living Services is currently seeking responsible, caring, and dedicated people for Part-time Direct Support Professional (Caregivers) positions locally in the Erie community. Starting rate of $18 per hour / $18.50 on Weekends Paid training Limited staff to client ratios
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver's license
- Acceptable motor vehicle history
- Acceptable criminal background history
- This position requires you to frequently stand, walk, climb stairs, squat, and bend.
- Must routinely lift 20 lbs or more.
- Must also assist with lifting individuals, and have the ability to monitor vital signs.
Responsibilities
- Relate, interact, and communicate positively with the individuals.
- Support and assist the individuals in developing skills that will further their independence and improve their quality of life.
- Administer and document medications according to agency and DPW policies.
- Conduct fire drills according to agency and DPW requirements.
- Adhere to all agency policies and procedures in regards to handling individual and miscellaneous house funds.
- Participate in the general upkeep of the individuals' homes and property.
- Prepare, or assist the individuals in preparing, family style meals.
- Provide any necessary transportation using agency vehicles and follow all applicable policies and procedures.
