About The Position

The Center for Human Development, (CHD) is seeking Residential Direct Care Staff to join CHD’s DMHAS residential programs. This program serves young adults with severe and persistent mental illness, co-occurring alcohol and drug disorders, and individuals with histories of trauma. Our programs are intended to provide a safe, therapeutic living environment. Your role as Residential Direct Care Staff: You will support the individuals in understanding and coping with serious mental illness, emotional/behavioral challenges, and/or recovery from substance abuse while assisting them in learning and acquiring the necessary skills for greater independence. As staff, you will respond to the individualized needs of each resident, balance the needs and priorities of personal safety, keep a focus on individual treatment goals, and assist in developing the skills necessary for independent living. Travel to bring individuals to medical appointments, shopping, outings, and pick up medication from pharmacy is a requirement of this role. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Experience working with psychiatric disorders or co-occurring population preferred
  • At least 21 years old
  • Ability to pass certification for CPR, First Aid
  • Reliable, registered & insured vehicle and approved driving record check
  • Approved criminal background check (CORI)
