Position Pretium Enterprise Services is seeking a Residential Credit Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join its AI, Data, and Investment Technology organization. This is a senior, field-facing engineering role operating at the intersection of software engineering, data, AI, and residential mortgage credit investing. The role is responsible for deploying production-grade AI, data, and software systems directly into residential credit investment workflows including loan acquisition, underwriting, pricing, portfolio monitoring, and loan performance analytics. The FDE partners closely with portfolio managers, credit analysts, originators, and servicing partners while remaining tightly aligned with central engineering, data, and product functions. Residential Credit investing involves complex loan-level datasets, high transaction volumes, and continuous portfolio monitoring. This role will help translate those workflows into scalable, durable digital systems that enhance investment decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7–12+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, applied AI, or platform development.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering production-grade systems into complex, real-world business environments.
  • Strong backend engineering experience, with cloud-native deployment on AWS and/or Azure.
  • Experience working directly with investment, credit, or financial services stakeholders, translating domain workflows into technical solutions.
  • Strong architectural judgment and ability to operate across central platforms and forward-deployed environments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across engineering, product, and business teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with credit analytics, financial modeling workflows, or lending platforms is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Residential Credit Platform Leadership Drive delivery of AI-, data-, and software-enabled solutions that support Residential Credit investing across loan acquisition, underwriting, and portfolio management.
  • Ensure vertical integration of tools, data, and workflows across Portfolio Management, Credit Analysis, Loan Acquisition, and Servicing oversight.
  • Partner closely with the Central Fund Engineering Lead to align on architecture, standards, security, and platform connectivity.
  • Serve as a trusted technical partner to credit investment leadership, shaping roadmap, prioritization, and solution design.
  • Loan Acquisition & Underwriting Workflow Deployment Build AI tools, pricing systems, and workflow products that support evaluation of mortgage loan acquisitions.
  • Develop systems that support borrower credit analysis, loan-level underwriting, and acquisition decision-making.
  • Translate credit evaluation workflows into integrated digital tools used directly by credit analysts and portfolio managers.
  • Partner with investment teams to ensure systems accurately reflect loan acquisition strategies and underwriting frameworks.
  • Portfolio Monitoring & Loan Performance Systems Develop tools that track loan performance, borrower behavior, delinquency trends, and collateral characteristics.
  • Build portfolio monitoring systems that provide investment teams with loan-level and portfolio-level analytics.
  • Integrate data from loan originators, servicers, property data providers, and internal investment systems.
  • Ensure reliable and scalable infrastructure for analyzing large mortgage datasets.
  • Platform Quality, Delivery, and Leadership Ensure all delivered systems meet production-grade standards for reliability, security, scalability, and performance.
  • Balance rapid delivery with long-term platform integrity and maintainability.
  • Depending on seniority, provide technical leadership and mentorship as the forward deployed engineering team grows.
  • Act as a steward of engineering quality and operational excellence in field deployments.
