About The Position

North provides mental health and behavioral support services to people facing
life challenges.  We design diverse and innovative programs that provide a high
level of structure within communities of care when a person or family is in

Finson Road is a placement for older adults, with prolonged mental health
issues. Our residents require support and encouragement to remain as independent
as possible. The Direct Care Counselor must possess skills to oversee and
organize their shift, provide care management, supervise and assist in the
development of skills and fostering abilities, in addition to providing
nurturing support and direct care to our program participants.

Requirements

• ability to recognize each of our clients’ uniqueness, needs and desires
• Candidates must be flexible
• possess the ability to be multi-tasked
• have a willingness to learn the clinical issues of individuals with mental illness, as well as the cognitive deficits and multiple medical conditions that accompany the individual during the aging process, more importantly how these work together

Nice To Haves

• An associate’s degree in human services or a related field would be preferred; however, equivalent experience is also acceptable.
