About The Position

The Residential Coordinator (RC) at AHRC New York City is responsible for overseeing multiple group home residences in the Bronx. This role involves directing and coordinating the continuous operation of residential management systems and the individualized program planning process. The RC supervises and trains managers and regional staff, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while coordinating the activities of interdisciplinary teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Special Education or related health care field.
  • At least two years of experience in a management/supervisory position of a Residential group home.
  • Experience managing multiple residential group homes is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in the field of OPWDD and understanding of OPWDD regulations.
  • Qualified to perform QIDP job duties.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and handle stressful situations when necessary.
  • Valid Tri-State or New York State driver's license for more than one year, in good standing.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise non-nursing clinical and consultant team members within the assigned region.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance and quality assurance with State and Federal regulations applicable to the operation of all facilities and programs.
  • Coordinate services for individuals under the Home and Community Based Services Waiver.
  • Oversee the quality and provision of training for staff under jurisdiction as per departmental policy.
  • Review and provide training and support in the administration of management systems and procedures, SCIP techniques, and related behavior management areas.
  • Provide managerial oversight during times of vacancy or absence of regular management staff.
  • Interpret Agency and Departmental policies, procedures, and safety regulations for all staff under jurisdiction.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate staff to achieve program goals.
  • Assist in the development of new residential facilities, including physical plant, admission/discharge, and setting up administrative systems.
  • Conduct investigations for personnel and program participant-related issues.
