Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on roofing projects. Previous experience in a senior or lead estimator role is highly desirable.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in advanced Excel functions and experience with industry-leading estimating software
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret project specifications, analyze data, and develop accurate cost estimates.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work with minimal errors.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating flexibility and a positive attitude.
Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Industry Knowledge: Sound understanding of roofing materials, construction methods, and industry standards/regulations.

Responsibilities

Project Estimation: Utilize advanced Excel skills and industry-leading estimating software to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for roofing projects. This includes analyzing project specifications, conducting material take-offs, and assessing labor requirements.
Cost Analysis: Conduct thorough cost analysis to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and ensure competitive pricing strategies while maintaining profitability.
Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive bid proposals based on accurate cost estimates, ensuring alignment with project requirements and client expectations.
Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and other stakeholders to review project scope, identify risks, and develop effective strategies to optimize project outcomes.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in estimating software to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
Documentation: Maintain organized records of project estimates, bids, and related documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
