About The Position
The County of Riverside's Department of Public Social Services, Children's Services Division, is seeking a qualified Residential Care Worker for the Harmony Haven Children and Youth Center (HHCYC) located in Beaumont, California. This position is crucial in providing direct care for children and youth aged birth to 17 years who are in protective custody and awaiting placement in a residential setting. The role requires a compassionate individual who can support the daily needs of these children while ensuring their safety and well-being. All applicants must be at least 21 years of age, as mandated by the Transitional Shelter Care Facility Operating Standards set by the California Department of Social Services. Those under 21 are not eligible for this position but may qualify for roles in other divisions. As a Residential Care Worker, you will be responsible for supervising and caring for children and youth, which includes observing and documenting their behavior, development, and needs. You will also instruct them on essential life skills and support their overall daily activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in a youth care facility, hold a current BLS/CPR certification (or be willing to obtain one), and possess skills in de-escalation techniques. The position involves working collaboratively with a team to create a nurturing environment that promotes the well-being and development of the children in care.
