About The Position
The Residential Care Nurse position, available for both Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Registered Nurses (RN), is a full-time role located at Independence House in Fostoria, OH. The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate comprehensive nursing care for residents, ensuring that their unique physical and emotional needs are met. The nurse will participate in resident and family education, providing leadership and maintaining high standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Independence House policies and ethical standards. This role is crucial in fostering a supportive and compliant environment for both residents and staff. In this position, the nurse will utilize the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident care, under the supervision of an RN. Effective communication is essential, as the nurse will establish and maintain open lines of communication with residents and their families, utilizing teaching opportunities to address specific learning needs. The nurse will also demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care tailored to the needs of the residents in their assigned neighborhood. Collaboration with RNs and physicians is a key responsibility, as the nurse will discuss resident conditions, treatment plans, and anticipated needs to ensure exceptional care. Leadership skills are also important, as the nurse will be accountable for the performance of Nurse Aides, promoting teamwork and quality resident care. The nurse is expected to embody the organization's mission, vision, and values, ensuring service excellence and resident satisfaction.
